As the summer ends, kids gear up for school, eagerly gathering their shiny new school supplies to start the year with confidence and excitement!

For children in foster care, instead of eagerness and excitement, many feel anxious and unsettled. While navigating a new school environment might be overwhelming enough, they also face social pressures and the fear of not fitting in or being excluded. Lacking the proper school supplies, such as notebooks, pencils, crayons, or simply a torn, battered backpack significantly adds to the stress suffered by children born into an unstable family environment.

We know school materials cannot remedy the complex issues the children will face, but we know that it will at least provide them with the possibility and confidence to assist in removing a barrier that will bring them one step closer to the road to success.
