Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
Throughout our history as an organization, Cardinal McCloskey Community Services (CMCS) has stayed true to our values of treating each individual-regardless of race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual preference, religion, health and ability status- with dignity and respect while embracing their unique talents and the diversity of our community. As we uphold these values and deliver on our mission, we issue this affirmative statement of our continued commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. We seek to be a part of the solution to combat the effects of racism and exclusion in our society, and to reinforce the rights of each individual to equitable, respectful and fair treatment.
Cardinal McCloskey Community Services closely monitors and fully adheres to all required COVID-related health and safety protocols as mandated by the CDC and New York State. We make this commitment for the adults who live in our residences and attend our day programs, the young children who come to our schools each day, and all of the families, children, and teens we serve across our communities. Ensuring the well-being of those in our care and community is our top priority. Details of our health and safety protocols are available in each program, and at each of our sites.
The mission of Cardinal McCloskey Community Services (CMCS) is to protect, empower, and promote independence for at-risk children and families and those with developmental disabilities through quality community based services.
Founded in 1946, CMCS has grown into a multi-service 501(c)(3) agency, providing nonsectarian support in child welfare, early childhood education, and adult disability services through programs primarily located in the Bronx, as well as in the other four boroughs of NYC, and Westchester and Rockland Counties.
We always have something fun going on - from events to campaigns, your support helps us continue fulfilling our mission to serve the children, families and adults with developmental disabilities in our care. Click below to see our upcoming events!
